Made another easy no bake milk booster!
I have been exclusively breastfeeding my son for 8 months now. That is a major achievement for me as this is the longest that I was able to breastfeed any of my children.
It is not easy, being a full time working mom who works most nights. But Raven and I now have developed a routine which is basically I let me latched unto me whenever he wants (on demand) when we are together.
Our routine also includes me hand expressing in the office or when I’m out (like when we had our work summit at Batangas), though I have a confession to make. As of late, I’m swamped with work or too much personal stuff that I have been lax with my expressing schedule at work. There were even nights where I altogether skip it the whole 9 hours I’m at the office and just hand express (my by then engorge boobs!) in the morning once I’m home.
The result? I ran out of milk stash and worse, my milk supply decreased.
So to once more boost my milk supply, I searched the net for easy no bake bites that I can make on my free time.
No Bake Lactation Oatmeal Bites
This one is not too different from the No Bake Oatmeal Bars I made before but with the exception of flax seeds.
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup flax seed (bought from Healthy Options)
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
DIRECTIONS:
- In a bowl, mix the oats, flax seed, brown sugar, peanut butter and vanilla extract.
- Once well mixed, stir in the chocolate chips.
- Roll mixture into bite sized balls and put in a container. Put in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Enjoy!
Super easy, right?
So far, these lactation balls are super effective in increasing my milk supply. I am once more slowly building my freezer stash! This has been my snack in the office as well, cutting down my unhealthy midnight snacking while at work.
Though I swear by these, I still believe that frequent and correct nursing is still the BEST approach to ensure that you’ll have a steady supply.

I’ve read that oatmeal does help lactating mums. That’s why I gave my friend some oatmeal haha had I known about this, I would have made some for her. I’ll surprise her with this next time 🙂

This would definitely be useful for moms:) I had no idea flax seed can help with the lactating mommies, especially so that stress can also get in the way.

Never tried this yet pero it’s good na malakas sya mag supply ng milk no? Ako, usually sabaw talaga pag paubos na. Still breastfeeding ng 2 yr old. haha.

Looks super yummy! I can relate though to the skipping of expressing milk. As of late I only pump once or twice but it isn’t really a problem now because Bunny is 18 mos and latches on at night. When my supply dipped I do try out lactation treats and it really works! Keep it up!

I would love to try this, but my husband has a history of allergies. That’s one reason I’m extra careful with nuts and other allergens. It’s a simple recipe. I think I can do this for my eldest and for my husband minus the lactagogue. 😉

Silly, I opened the link thinking the recipe calls for breastmilk. I swear I’ve been seeing those in Facebook recently. I’m curious how can these no-bake goodies help boost milk supply? Also I’m going to assume they’re fit to eat for everybody because they look delicious. 🙂
