This is the second part of our Antipolo day trip last May. Picture heavy post ahead 🙂
After spending the first part of the day being all artsy-fartsy in Pinto Museum, we then head off to My Pot Restaurant where we over-indulged in Filipino food (buffet-style nonetheless!) for only 125 pesos!
My good friend, Jon of Jontotheworld.com, wrote more about our foodtrip (and Antipolo adventure) on his blog.
With our tummies full, we’re all ready for the Luljetta’s Hanging Garden and Spa experience.
The property is located within the Loreland Resort premise, situated along the Antipolo mountainside. The place has a distinct Filipino vibe to it from the wooden finishes of the daybeds to the traditional bathrobe (batik) that were handed out to guests.
There were also inspirational messages posted all over the place to lift your city-weary spirits, perfect with the soft, meditation music playing on loop.
Since I’m pregnant and cannot do massages, we opted to get the Hanging Gardens Retreat Package (Php 930 per person) which includes access to the Hanging Gardens Facilities (Locker, Sauna, Dr. Fish Spa, Heated Jacuzzi, Hydro-massage Pool, Infinity Pools and Meditation Lounges). You can check the updated rates here.
We first tried the Hydro-Massage Pool. It’s not really recommended for pregnant women as they use high pressure jets of water to stimulate circulation so Cesca and I stayed na lang sa middle part where the current is not that strong.
Next stop was the Dr. Fish Spa where one needs courage just to dip your feet into the water.
We also tried the Sauna and Jacuzzi where there was a bit of a queue (since we went on a Saturday). Waiting means picture galore though so yey for us!
Capped the day with a dip in the Infinity Pool overlooking the Manila skyline and Laguna De Bay. It actually took us awhile before we had the pool to ourselves for our ‘photoshoot‘ haha.
We also availed of some extra spa amenities, foot spa and massage for my friends and mani – pedi for me. But before the pampering, we munched on our meryenda of lemongrass tea and suman (which was also included in the package).
Some tips for those who’ll visit the place:
- Through perfect as a weekend date getaway for couples, the place is not really for small kids and the elderly as the steps are steep and narrow.
- If you’re used to hot springs like those in Laguna, be warned that water in the pools not warm. It can also get pretty cold/chilly in Antipolo kahit afternoon.
- Slippers are provided but they are not comfortable. They don’t have kid’s sizes as well. You can bring your own or buy from one of the stalls inside Loreland Resort which we did 🙂
- It’s quite hard to reach their landline. I had a couple of questions (being pregnant and tagging along a 6 yr old), and it took awhile before I can get hold of them. Better to text them instead.
Overall, the place is indeed a haven for relaxation, a perfect sanctuary to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Had it been another time, I would be contented to just lounge on one of the daybeds after my massage with a book in hand.
Who knew that barely just a stone’s throw away from Manila, one could find this gem of a place? As they say, having a good time need not to be elaborate and expensive. It may just be a day trip but Antipolo surely rejuvenated our spirits.

Please do visit once you have the time 🙂 After our trip, we came to realize talaga that there is more to Antipolo than the ‘pilgrimage’ and ‘overlooking’.

I think the pool package is great but like you, I’m pregnant. I either have to wait till I pop the baby, or go but end up food trippin’! Haha

This palce looks really pretty and relaxing. I plan to bring the whole family here including my nanay but I’m having second thoughts since you mentioned about some steep areas.

Yeah, it can get tiring for them since they’ll need to go up and down narrow stairs to go from one pool to another.

Ganda talaga the place 🙂 though you might find it hard to carry the baby with the stairs being steep, just need to be extra careful in case you’ll find the time to visit 🙂
